How to Plan A Yankee Stadium Engagement Session (Yes, Proposals Too!)

Tell me your heart doesn’t pound a little bit harder with pride when you hear Frank Sinatra’s voice soar through Yankee Stadium, belting out “New York, New York.” It’s more than just a song — it’s a feeling. It’s pride, it’s tradition, it’s that unmistakable we-won energy. Whether you’re a lifelong fan like me or simply swept up in the moment, there’s something about that chorus echoing through the stadium that feels iconic. Now imagine dropping to one knee in a place that’s legendary — there’s something pretty special about a Yankee Stadium marriage proposal!

Popping the question on the field or taking engagement photos in the stands turns the stadium into a personal, unforgettable backdrop.

So, Can You Propose At Yankee Stadium?

Yes! You can either rent the stadium and have it to yourselves, or you can go the scoreboard message route during a game. Both options require booking a few weeks in advance, and off-season weekdays are often easiest to snag.

To pull it off, you’ll want to reach out to Yankees Guest Services or their Events Team.

Ask about private access options, proposal packages, and pitcher’s mound availability for 1-2 hours.

One idea I love is renting the stadium in the morning for a private session on the mound — no crowds, just the two of you (and your photographer, of course).

And of course, not all Yankees fans need to be born or raised in NYC. One of my former clients flew in from out of state with her boyfriend, who surprised her with a proposal during their trip.  Her love for the team ran so deep that she had custom Yankees nail art done just in time for the big moment. The photos turned out so adorable — it was such a fun, unexpected way to show off her team spirit. And of course, nail art isn’t a requirement — just your Yankee love.

Pro tip: Prefer to propose at Citi Field if you’re a die-hard Mets fan? Proposing at Mets Stadium requires the same type of prep, and you can contact them here.

And yes, I do photograph Mets fans with love, even though my pinstripe heart belongs to the Yankees. I draw the line, though: you’ll never catch me at Fenway, ever. Sorry, Red Sox Nation — but that’s where I wave the white flag.

How Much Does It Cost To Get Engaged at Yankee Stadium?

You should expect to pay around $500 or more for scoreboard packages, and around $2,000+ for private proposals or engagement shoots in Yankee Stadium that include photo ops and tours.

It’s a bit of a splurge, but trust me, it’s worth it!

Hit Your Proposal Out Of The Park (Tips for Planning)

You knew I couldn’t leave you without a home run pun, because this is truly a win for anyone planning a special Yankee Stadium marriage proposal. Need more ideas? I’ve done this before and have plenty to share!

Just remember to plan a nearby dinner or toast and hire a local photographer (me!) to catch every moment.

After the big “yes,” we can even keep the momentum going: imagine hopping into the subway for some raw, real New York energy, and getting those iconic, candid shots on the platform or train. It’s a great way to round out your gallery with some true-to-NYC grit and romance.
