When Devin and Victoria reached out to me in early February, they were on a fast timeline. They loved that my wedding collections included engagement sessions, and they were eager to book theirs right away. The challenge? Timing.
They wanted their photos taken before the Chinese New Year lanterns were taken down from streets in Chinatown. That meant an engagement session in the middle of February—cold, but absolutely worth it.
Despite the winter chill, we had an incredible time exploring the colorful streets of Chinatown, particularly Doyers Street, with its signature vibrant sidewalk. Their engagement photos not only captured their love but also became the foundation of their wedding website, setting the tone for their big day. And it was a great ice-breaker, Victoria commented that she was excited at working together on wedding day.
Their love story is a quintessential New York City romance, stretching from Queens to the winding streets of Chinatown and back to Astoria, where they celebrated their wedding at Renaissance Event Hall.

Devin and Victoria’s love story began with a dating app match, but fate had its own plans to seal the deal. From the very beginning, Devin was absolutely smitten with Victoria. Their first few dates went well, but suddenly, she became incredibly busy. Devin misinterpreted her absence as a lack of interest and reluctantly assumed their connection had fizzled out.
Just as he was trying to move on, their paths quite literally crossed again—on a train. It was an unexpected but perfectly timed reunion. Victoria reassured him that she hadn’t been avoiding him; between school and work, life had simply been overwhelming. With that misunderstanding cleared up, their romance picked up where it left off, and before long, they knew they had found something special.
Fast forward, and the two decided to get married. Devin wasted no time—he took charge of the wedding planning, determined to create a celebration that honored both their cultures. Their wedding would be a fusion of traditions, blending the vibrancy of Victoria’s Asian heritage with classic Western wedding elements.
Originally, Deven and Victoria booked me for seven hours to capture their special day. Normally my coverage is continuous coverage; however, due to the unique nature of their Asian-Indian fusion wedding, they needed coverage at two different times - two hours in the morning for key traditions and the remainder in the evening for their main celebration. Understanding the importance of honoring both cultural elements, we worked with them to accommodate this structure, treating it as two distinct events.
Since the wedding took place in the city, this arrangement was logistically feasible. We truly enjoyed working with them and capturing the beauty of their multicultural celebration in a way that respected their traditions while maintaining a In situations like these, I understand that cultural weddings often require unique scheduling, and I'm always happy to accommodate when possible, provided that travel logistics allow. For Deven and Victoria, my flexibility meant they could fully enjoy their day without worrying about losing photography coverage or compromising on key moments.
Flexibility with the photography coverage - Customized their wedding coverage to allow for a break in between their morning Hindu wedding ceremony and the rest of their day. We remained fleible and re-arranged our coverage after the contract, to allow them full service.
Awareness of Cultural Sensitivities - We were aware that both families were very conservative and we intentional about providing photos with minimal PDA while still capturing their love.
Navigating a Fast Timeline - We were able to capture the full story of their wedding. We worked efficiently to capture the most important parts that they had incorporated, yet allowed the couple some privacy (especially with all the changing garments).

I promise to love you.
I promise to love you.
The Renaissance was the perfect backdrop for this vibrant fusion wedding. This spacious getting-ready suite doubled as a tea room. And one my favorite moments was catching Devon's father take a quite moment to lie on the large sofa before all the festivities. The private outdoor garden provided another location to hold the couple's intimate western wedding ceremony with their immediate family, while the rest of their guests were invited for cocktail hour.
The main ballroom floor was perfect space to enjoy the epic cultural dances and the couple's epic performance. With high ceilings adorned with Chinese lanterns and Indian marigold garlands, the venue beautifully reflected both cultures while still feeling intimate and inviting.

Patricia and her team were an absolute delight from start to finish. We appreciated she let us be in our element and have a low key vibe and gave us tips for great shots - she is a pro in all ways!
